Work/Life Balance Coaching
Work/Life Balance Coaching is a step by step educational style of coaching to learn the reasons why society has the influence it has on your personality. You will learn how to identify your norms, culture and familial core concepts so you can begin to break them down into what works for you in your current life and what doesn't work any more. Learning to do the analysis is key, then you will proceed to the next step of taking your personal temperature to see where you are at any particular point into your life. Choice therapy is embedded into the Work/Life Balance Coaching to help you understand why you are at the point you are in your life. Learning to accept and embrace change will help you to create the life you want. Remarkable results - call today!

Coaching 101
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) 1 - What is Coaching? Coaching is a partnership. Like any partnership it involves respect and trust to build upon. - Complete confidentiality and ethics. Clients need to feel secure with the coach they choose. We offer a pre-interview to you at no cost or obligation. We want you to be sure. It is a commitment that we both make. What is Coaching? It is a professional service offered to business clients to help them solve a problem, reach a goal, make a change in their career. Coaching is one-to one. Coaching provides the business client support to make the desired change in a professional, ethical business partnership. 2 – Is Coaching or Career Counseling the same as Psychological Counseling? - No. Coaching and career counseling are not the same as psychological counseling. It is strongly recommended that your coach has a background in psychology to help with underlying issues that may be making a difference in how the problem is perceived . A regular business person/turned coach who has never had professional coaching experience can sometimes cause more problems with a misdiagnoses of a serious problem. That is why we have trained counselors on staff to make sure you get the help you need. Most often a client will search out a coach because he/she is unhappy with their current job or prospects for the future in their current career. A coach generally works on client perception and behavior, and helps the client determine what they want to accomplish on a business or personal level. Sometimes we all just need to talk and that is part of the coaching/client relationship. But once in a while it goes a lot deeper and clients may need extra help. Although we help you look at the big picture, we do not do psychological counseling and will be happy to refer or help you to find a good therapist. A therapist is trained to work with issues of the subconscious and to address diagnosable psychological conditions that are causing the person emotional pain. Often coaches and therapists work concurrently and refer the person for needed services. One thing you can be sure of is that we will genuinely listen and do our utmost to get you on the right track. 3 - Coaching is relatively new, so why are so many people already taking advantage of it? - The business world is fast paced and often cut-throat. We, as human beings, are not born knowing everything. We often come to a job with impressive degrees and business skills, but have no clue about company politics, corporate culture, sniping and people who want to make you a stepping stone to their own success. Savvy business people don’t settle. They are willing to take risks in their careers and personal lives to become the success they know they are inside. "Coaching can help you utilize skill, abilities and knowledge to achieve your clearly defined goals." 4 – Where do you begin? - The first step is to identify the problem and decide what you want to change or accomplish in your business or personal life with the resolution of the problem. Helping our clients discern between what is real and what is a perceived problem is a first step to making change. 5 – How long does it take? - Frequently our clients see results in their behavior within the first several sessions. Often one of the first things our clients see is the difference in their own attitude – they don’t feel like they are in a helpless situation any longer. The early successes help them begin to resolve more difficult problems and make important changes in their business and personal lives. SBIC clients report positive feedback from family and business associates and become more motivated. Frequently a coach will use assessment tools to help target specific issues that the client wants to change. Exercises like goal setting help the client and develop a career map: and an action plan for implementing those goals. This structure helps to provide a framework to systematically work through issues. Each case is individual and the coaching needs are different. The steps to resolving the problems may take just a few weeks, or, up to 6-12 months accordingly. It's all about you and your needs. 6 – How is it set up? - A FREE, pre-interview session is to assess the issues to be dealt with. This is an important time to see if there is a chemistry between the client and the coach or if there needs to be a referral to another coach on staff. A determination is made at that time to see how the client wants to handle his/her coaching. A menu of coaching packages to fit every coaching need is reviewed and the best plan selected for each individual client. Fees are discussed at this time and upon agreement, regularly scheduled appointments are set. Problems don’t always wait for appointments, so we exchange information at this time for exceptional problems that come up or for emergencies. 7 – How do I choose the right Coach for me? - You need to be comfortable with a Coaching style that is right for you; more important, you need to be comfortable with the person that you choose to share and grow with. Career coaching is a life changing process. It is a very personal interaction. In your first interview, you need to assess the coach and ask yourself if you communicate well with this person. Does your coach understand your problems and are they sensitive to the issues that are confronting you? Do you need long range coaching/counseling until the problem is resolved or do you just need a personal assessment to get your perspective right. Probably one of the most important things is to find a coach that has the life experience and not just a textbook answer to your problem. It is not just book learning here at SBIC – we have tested the waters in our climb to success and know the anguish, confusion, indecision and unfairness that are stumbling stones to success. Experience, empathy, synergy, determination, motivation and extensive business education is the hands up we offer. Change, no matter how abrupt or devastating, can offer new opportunities for growth that you may have never been able to discover before. Fear, confusion and conflict are symptoms of the problem. Coaching and counseling can help you find the perspective and move on with your life. 8 – What actually is the difference between Career Counseling, Career Pathing and Career Coaching? - Career Counseling centers on establishing a firm foundation for long term career decisions. Career Pathing sets the goals and provides the action steps to get you to your goal. Career Coaching focuses on the achievement of your near term goals. 9 – What kind of things do people talk about in a Coaching Session? - A sample of subjects may include: --- Career Coaching, --- Preparing for a promotion, --- Choosing between job offers, --- Staying Motivated, --- Changing Careers, --- Job Termination, --- Career Pathing, --- Executive Coaching – making a career transition, --- Gaining survival skills for the new manager, --- Career Pathing within an organization, --- Office Politics and how to navigate, --- Helping experienced managers grow to new levels, --- Motivating the Motivator, --- Taking your pulse. --- Career Anxiety - Coaching provides structure, guidance and support during your evolution in the business world. --- Heed the Call - Finding your voice and place in this world. We at SBIC strongly feel that we have a calling to help business men and women find their footing in the climb to success. Business is our calling. Coaching and mentoring is our calling. YOU are our calling. It feels so good to be where you are meant to be in your career – we take seriously our commitment to help you find yours.
